Japan Centre (Park Royal, London) - Online Operations Team Leader

Pay: £12/ hour
Working Hours: Permanent contract – average 35 hours a week. This role involves working weekdays (9:30am - 5:00pm) and occasionally weekends (subject to change).
Job Purpose:
The Online Operations Team Leader at Japan Centre (Park Royal, London) will oversee the efficient functioning of our online operations team. The primary focus is to ensure a seamless experience for our online customers by managing the team responsible for order processing, customer service operations, and logistics coordination. This role calls for dynamic leadership, operational excellence, and dedication to achieving business goals in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick and pack japancentre.com orders
- Ensure all orders are picked, packed, and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Supervise the day-to-day operations related to online order processing and ensure timely dispatch and delivery.
- Oversee the receiving, storage, and dispatching of goods in the warehouse.
- Manage inventory levels, including stock replenishment and stock-taking activities.
- Coordinate with the logistics team for efficient delivery schedules and stock management.
- Work collaboratively with the customer service team to resolve any order or service-related issues efficiently.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and enhance operational productivity.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and boost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards within the workplace.
- Manual handling: heavy lifting, bending and stretching throughout your shift
- Heavy items such as alcohol/ rice products can weigh up to 20kg
Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
- Demonstrable experience in managing an online operations team or similar environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Exceptional organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills with proficiency in English; both written and spoken.
Desirable:
- Experience in e-commerce or the Japanese food industry.
- Technical knowledge relevant to online operations, such as familiarity with e-commerce platforms.
- Understanding of Japanese language or culture is advantageous.
