Japan Centre Group Ltd was founded in 1976 with a suitcase full of Japanese books and a vision to serve the Japanese community in London.

Since then, we’ve grown into one of the largest and most influential Japanese retailers in the UK and Europe. We’ve expanded to offer a wide range of services, including a supermarket, bakery, deli, homeware, online shopping, and wholesale, along with popular ramen restaurants.

In July 2018, in partnership with Cool Japan Fund, we launched ICHIBA at Westfield London, the largest Japanese Food Hall in Europe.

In October 2020, we transformed our fine dining restaurant, Sakagura, into Heddon Yokocho, an old-school-style eatery specializing in regional ramen and Japanese soul food.
