Summary of Role: 

Are you passionate about digital and enjoy working in a fast paced environment? We’re looking for a highly motivated SEO & Data Analyst to assist us with managing our analytics infrastructure whilst providing guidance and support to the wider business to ultimately drive SEO rankings, traffic, conversion and increased revenue for the Japan Centre group websites. 

Working across all four brands, you will have excellent organisational skills, being able to multi-task and feel confident delivering to tight deadlines. You will be methodical, always thinking of new and better ways to do things and be passionate about working accurately and effectively, to manage your time and achieve your objectives. 

Your proactive nature will bring new ideas to the table, based on analysis of different data sources and you will be influential in content and campaign planning.

You will have rich experience in Technical SEO, Google Ads campaigns, Data analysis and insights reporting, ideally in ecommerce or a retail/restaurant scenario. 

You will work alongside our designers and developers to review our SEO and improve our organic rankings and technical setup, developing detailed guidelines for the content managers and marketing team to follow, ensuring that customers are always presented with inspiring, easy to find and up to date content for Japan Centre Group.


Key Responsibilities:  

  • Analyse SEO performance across all our brands, sharing learnings and generating actions and a roadmap to improve performance and results
  • Provide regular reports on search insights in order to inform SEO / PPC / SEM decision making and also inform of any week on week / year on year changes to customer behaviour 
  • Identify and manage the most commercially valuable keywords; benchmarking against competitors and ensuring we out rank for key terms 
  • Work with the wider digital and marketing team to optimise Google Ads to serve company goals, following best practices
  • Collaborate with Marketing and UX teams, providing guidance and support to enable them to deliver optimised copy, content and keywords, to drive organic website traffic
  • Drive projects that will reshape how data is used across the business, improving reporting and insights
  • Manage the implementation of our Google Analytics, defining the tagging strategy and standards, ensuring a consistent execution across all our brands
  • Proactively utilise Google Analytics and other analytics tools to offer insight to the wider digital and marketing teams
  • Be the main point of contact for all digital analytics enquires from the organisation and provide regular reporting and insight to the wider organisation on key performance indicators, campaigns and projects
  • Ensure the fundamental KPI’s of Traffic, Conversion and Order Value can be analysed in detail to understand the key drivers and impacts across mobile, tablet and desktop
  • Ensure end to end user journeys can be analysed to enable problem areas and opportunities to be easily identified and addressed
  • Build and maintain weekly, monthly & quarterly SEO reports tracking content performance, traffic analytics and search trends
  • Assist with the creation and management of real time dashboards to report on KPIs and SEO performance, providing real-time insights to the business 
  • Assist our UX functions to implement automated customer surveys on our websites and analyse the insights 
  • Analyse our technical SEO and work closely with our developers to ensure the platform is optimised and any changes to design and UX retain or improve organic ranking
  • Understand and monitor the latest changes and trends the SEO landscape, making recommendations to ensure the Japan Centre Group addresses any important shifts 
  • Generate detailed guidelines or a ‘playbook’ that can be used by our digital and marketing teams in order to update update and maintain SEO data, ensuring that we can rank as highly as possible in google and against our competitors
  • Work with the wider Digital and Ecommerce team on group projects such as new website builds, assisting with SEO considerations 
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports outlining key KPIs with recommendations on updates/changes that are required.


Experience:

  • A degree level marketing or technical qualification is desirable / or extensive experience in digital marketing / SEO management / Data analysis role 
  • Relevant marketing experience in the hospitality & retail sector, would be highly desirable
  • Appreciation for Japanese & Asian culture, products and cuisine, is desirable either through work, study or through personal social connections 
  • An appreciation and some knowledge of the Japanese language would be desirable and must have Native English or equivalent 
  • Minimum of 5-10  years in a similar role would be desirable, agency experience is welcomed


Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent numerical and IT skills including (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook, Google Sheets, Documents and Slides)
  • Expert user of Google Analytics, Google Search Console and other SEO tools such as SEMrush, ScreamingFrog
  • Expert user with crawling tools: eg; Botify, Screaming Frog SEO Spider.
  • Expert understanding of SEO principles and best practice from both a technical and content perspective
  • Extensive experience of using SEO analytics tools to shape strategy and ongoing activities to drive traffic
  • Excellent knowledge of search engine optimisation practices
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment, while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team to implement SEO campaigns, insights reports, proposals etc
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of stakeholders and suppliers
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills  
  • Team player, with ability to work at all levels
  • High attention to detail
  • Interested in all things digital and new trends 
  • Collaborative and able to build great working relationships within our internal team and external partners
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly, effectively, persuasively to an individual or a group
