Marketing Executive

We are hiring for a Marketing Executive!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Summary of Role:
You will work alongside the Head of Marketing to help develop, manage and implement
marketing plans to meet business targets for sales and customer engagement for Japan
Centre, and Ichiba and support campaigns for Shoryu Ramen and Heddon Yokocho.
Working across all four brands, you will have excellent organisational skills, being able to
multi-task and feel confident working in a fast paced environment. You will be creative,
always thinking of new and better ways to do things and be passionate about keeping up
to date with new trends and developments in retail, hospitality and marketing.
Key Responsibilities:


Marketing:

● Work in conjunction with the Head of Marketing to help project manage and market
annual in store food festivals, brand collaborations, events, weekly promotions and
new products and services in Japan Centre and Ichiba
● Help promote the new Japan Centre Mochi Bar as part of the redevelopment of the
Japan Centre flagship store and new projects throughout the year
● Continue to promote the 'insperience' of our newly launched Japan Centre DIY Kits
including sushi, poke, sake flight, cookie, curry and family sushi kits.

● In conjunction with the Head of Marketing and the marketing team, work on
promotional campaigns for Shoryu, and Heddon Yokocho to increase brand
awareness and sales
● Help to contribute to the monthly email calendar for each brand, create content,
build and send emails according to the weekly schedule for Ichiba Online
Marketplace
● Help to manage data capture opportunities across the business from websites,
events and promotions
● Research new channels and opportunities for marketing to new customers about
our business
● Analyse and research competitors and be aware of current trends in the restaurant
and retail sectors
● Understand each brand's positioning, visual identity and key messaging and ensure
that each brand is consistent across all touch points
● Book in all press meals and store press tours, record expenditure and resulting press
coverage
● Help manage the relationships with our external press teams sending them updates
to secure coverage, and ideas to engage titles
● Create and schedule content for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for restaurant and
store brands
● Confidence creating engaging posts and insta videos for brands
● Work with our in house video content creator to create social videos for campaigns
● Work with our press agency to look for ways to promote our large range of products
from matcha and sake to miso, noodles and rice and Ichiba Online Marketplace
delivery service


Reporting:
● Monitor key metrics and contribute to monthly marketing reports to include stats
on marketing activity undertaken, using POS software and Google Analytics
● Send out weekly press reports to the business detailing press coverage secured for
each brand with title and reach
Design/IT
● Work with the design team to help deliver all marketing material for promotional
campaigns and ensure they meet brand guidelines by writing accurate design briefs
for campaign collateral with engaging copy and clear call to actions
● In conjunction with the design team and IT, manage and update restaurant and
store websites with latest news and offers as well as ensure clear navigation
throughout the different brand websites


General:
● Carry out related duties and ad hoc requests as assigned by the Head of Marketing
● Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures including General
Data Protection Regulation 2018 (GDPR)


Experience:
● Graduate with a marketing qualification is desirable (e.g. CIM, DMA or IDM)
● Experience in a wide range of marketing disciplines including digital, SEO, PPC, social
media, email, advertising and press
● Relevant marketing experience in the hospitality & retail sector, would be highly
desirable

● In depth knowledge and experience of Japanese & Asian culture, products and
cuisine, would be highly desirable either through work or study
● Experience of using word press or similar CMS
● Minimum of 2-4 years marketing experience would be preferable


Skills & Attributes:
● Excellent numerical and IT skills including (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook,
Google Sheets, Documents and Slides)
● The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment,
while maintaining a positive attitude
● Ability to work independently and as part of the marketing team to implement
marketing campaigns
● Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively
communicate with customers, suppliers and stakeholders
● Excellent organisational and time management skills
● Strong copywriting skills to create fun, engaging on brand copy
● Passionate foodie who is into the latest restaurants, places to shop and all things
digital
● An appreciation and some knowledge of the Japanese language would be preferable
